Bak kut teh....at 0200!!

I had just finished another round of DOTA, i think it's my 4th or 5th of the night im not sure. The clock showed 0200 and i was ready to hit the covers and had already conquered the flight of stairs when i saw b4 me..... my dad who had woke up.

Just b4 that, my mom walked passed me and w/o shifting her glance said " want to go for supper ?" It was so soft that i barely caught it and was wondering why she was asking when she has just brought Chai Chai out to poo poo.

So when i saw my dad, he just asked if i would like to go for bak kut teh. I think he expected a yes. And i did, w/o hesistating altho i was friggin sleepy. Bro and sis tagged along altho bro said no at 1st. Why would he say no to bak kut teh?

I drove our fiat ulysse there, i think im becoming my family's driver. It's almost always me who drives. The shops on Jln raja laut and it serves fantastic bak kut teh. But u should only go there at about 1 or 2 coz that's when the soup's best!!

We ordered 6 tau fu poks, 1 'fa yuk' and 1 'pai kuat chi'. I consumed 2 bowls of rice albeit with objections from my mom. She's always like that. Hahaha. Go there if not for the bak kut teh, it's for the tau fu poks coz it's really uberly ultimately Deelicious!!! By the time we're thru it was already 0330. And i went to bed straight afters. DAMN, gonna get fat!

But it's worth it! If u hv the time and the urge! Go ahead and eat there. It's just along jln raja laut, directly infront of a bus stop. You cant miss it!!

This statue is s'pose to be a fish changing into a dragon. Dont see any transformation tho.

Big temple opposite the spring pavillion. Dont know the name, cant read chinese!

Enter through the dragon's mouth and exit thru the tigers!! We didnt climb up the pagoda andi blame the tour guide who was rushing us. It's also called the spring pavillion if im not misaken.

Flowers in Fu lung sha temple ( not sure) but it's huge.
That's me with the giant buddha statue. Around the garden there are hundreds of human-sized buddha made of pvc i think. It's hollow and there a Do Not Touch Sign.
Lunch in Tainan. The foods were Deeelicious!
Motorcycles everywhere! Statistics from tour guide there's 88 motorcycles for every 100 persons.

Tried solero shot? This is higher.
The diving machine! It stopped there for 2 secs to let u 'admire' the view b4 going off!
Strawberries in, well a strawberry farm! Sweet and a lil sour. Still tastes good!

Sui loong pau in taiwan. My 1st was in HK and it was delicious. This was almost as good. Almost.

Taipei 101. Named thus for it has 101 floors.

Parents in a shopping complex next to 101. Much like KlCC but they have better foods in their food courts!!

"Oh the fish ball soup here is very nice. You all need to try it" says the tour guide. Conclusion: Nthg special just that it's bigger than average. This is in Jiufen.

4 diff types of Fu Yi. We take this with our porridge! Very nice bought a afew home.

My parents... Look at my dad! Always eating no wonder his tummy is growing bigger & bigger!

Smth's not right in this picture.

Scenery in Jiufen. The story goes that last time there was 9 families here and 10 on the other side of the mountain. So the supply porters just called the places jiufen ( supply for 9) and shifen (for 10) and the name has stuck til now.
We reached Taipei on the 22nd at 2200 hrs and went to hv a heavy supper. Reached the Imperial hotel as 2330. Wake up call was designated at 0630. On the 1st nite i was bored and ventured out alone at 0130. It was crazy as the girls were still shopping at that time and activities ceased just a lil. Got my hands on fried chicken liver, Pig skin and a green seaweed thingy called hai smth.
On our 1st day we went to Jiufen then we went to 101. Nthg spectacular. Our KLCC is much grandier! (nationalism.. LOL) After that we went to the Marty's museum b4 having lunch. Then we went to the National Museum and in the evening to the chiang kai sek memorial and to the night markets. Se men ting and the other 1 shih-li. Arrived back at the hotel at 2300 smth.
The next day (24th!) we head to taichung. Highlight of the day was the Jian-hu shan theme park which have one of the biggest ferris wheel i've seen. It takes roughly 'bout 45 mins to complete one full circle. We had a one of a kind xmas eve dinner. Open aired and all the food served was a lil cold! Was acting macho at that time and refused to bring down my pullover and boy did i suffered. Had beer and played about. Xmas spirit was about and everyone started singing carols. I just sat there and listened!! XD At about 2130 we went to Fong Chia night market. Bought nthg except for a stick of chinese sausage, rice in sausage shape and yam bubble tea (communication error).
25th was spent mostly on the bus where we departed from taichung to tainan where we had a special lunch ( pic above). Then we head to kaoshiung city whr we visited the spring & autumn pavillions and the dragon tiger pagoda. Beautiful! B4 that, we visited fo kuan shan, a huge temple. The tour guide wanted some comission and brought us to a pearl shop afterwards. There was a class whr we all attended listening to stuffs about pearls i think. Couldnt understand!!! At night, he brought us over to the Love river. It was so cold yet i could still see taiwanese girls with short skirts or short pants.
Woke up at 0430 to get dressed b4 heading down to the lobby to get our packed lunch! Consist of a hard boiled big, ham sandwich with the ham the size of credit card and a banana! Of all things, a banana! Left for the airport at 0530 arriving at 0600-0630. Checked in and boarded the plane at 0800. Goodbye taiwan and home to malaysia!!
Oh, pics are from the last day to the 1st!!

BACK!!

Arrived at home at around 1600 after a flight from KAOSHIUNG to KLIA connecting to K.K.. Slept roughly thru the whole flights except for the 2 meals and shots of brandy cum talking cock with han who had vodka.

At the duty free shop we bought 2 bottles of DOM (for mom) a bottle of Absolut Mandarin (sis) and J.D. (me). Total cost = RM360.. DIRT CHEAP!!!!

I just read the news where an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the richter scale struck just off the south coast of taiwan with a 6.7 felt in taipei. It occured roughly at around 1300 where i think im like a few thousand feet in the air.

I wonder what it would be like to live thru an earthquake. I've seen what it could do on tv and out of curiosity, i would like to experience one myself....alone. Wouldnt want any1 close to me to get in harms way. I wonder how i would handle the situation where it's chaotic and dangerous. Would i scour away and hide myself in a sanctuary? Or would i brave it fearlessly handing a helping hand to those in need? I dont know. I cant say u would run away nor can am i 100% sure that i'll stay and help. I cant say i'll remain calm nor am i sure that i'll panic. Human behaviour is unpredictable in desperate times and heroes in peacetime might turn out to be cowards and those deemed useless to be heroes.

Alas, i guess we'll only know when it happens.

Hope there wasnt much dmg done to the citizens of taiwan and to our brothers in JOHOR, i hope the flood would cease and life for them would go on normally. GOD BLESS!!!

Chi Ge Zhi Dou??

I'll be leaving for taiwan now. I'll be spending my xmas there with a bunch of old ppl. It should be the same as last yr but i was in macau and had fancy and iris with their 2 cousin (cute) with me. I just hope they have smth special there. Wont be in Taipei for xmas eve tho like i wasnt in hong kong last yr. Bosch is cheap!!

The sole problem i'll be facing is.... communicating with the locals. I am a banana. No denying that. So i guess all i'll be asking for is the price and if the food is nice. Fantastic!!

Hmmm...hopefully the trip wont be too bad or boring but since im in a new place, there's so much to see and so much to learn. I'll take lots of pics and upload it provided i can find that friggin cable -_-... Anyways, Cheers!

Oh yea

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!

I'll be back for new yrs.... DONT WRY!!!

Imam club? Seriously?

It was in the papers a few days back I think. Where the local imam’s of the state of kelantan decided it was time for them to allow their 18 yr olds to embrace clubbing. So they created a club I think they called it ‘imam’ club or smth. I forgot.

It sounds normal, well except for the ‘imam’ part (actually the more I think of it, it sounds more wrong now). Anyway, so what’s truly special ‘bout this club and it seriously changed the whole meaning of clubbing is that it’ll be segregated…. According to gender!

Yeap! The boys will be dancing with the boys and the girls will be dancing with the imams!! Just kidding, they’ll be dancing with ppl of the same gender. So what bout the guys who wants to pick up chix? Or chix who wanan pick up guys? I think they have to do it at the back alley or smth. But they have to be careful tho, islamic police might just send em to prison for breach of some syariah law thingy.

Why cant those legislators think up smth useful instead of smth like ‘imam’ club. What the hell, ppl go to clubs to have some fun with their friends and mingle around. They want to mix with the opposite sex else why would they get all dressed up for it?

This is hilarious and a laughing stock. It’s both stupid and impractical. And I for one will nvr go into it. What ‘bout you?

Unfair. Downright Unfair!

Sunday mornings are…..dreamy. More often than not those dreams are brought well into the afternoon. On occasions where my stomach’s growling for food will I wake up a lil earlier for b’fast. Today was no diff, except that at 10 those bastards were at it again. This time the drilling was directly opposite of our wall and the noise from the drilling can be heard loudly. I grunted, tossed and turned and refused to even open my eyes! Close to me I can vaguely hear my bro doing the same stuff.
By the time I did open my eyes, it was already 1310. Parents were out having lunch with my aunts but there was b’fast on the table. Prawn mee..yum yum!
Threw myself at the com after bfast but no1 was online. Surfed bbc and smth about darfur or sudan. Cant rmbr much. Then came my bro, holding smth in his hands which a big grin on his face. He always has that grin when he has smth to brag about!
He opened the box and slowly and carefully brought the item out. An ipod video. A black ipod video which he said costs around 900 bucks. He then placed it on the table infront of me and plugged in a cable, to charge it. Blardy hell, cant he use the laptop for it?
I, who’s phone was just conked up yet couldn’t afford to buy myself a new phone nor persuade my parents to buy one for me there my bro was brandishing his new ipod. WTF is wrong with this world? It’s so unfair. I think my parents gives him too much money. I think they should divert some of it to ME!
As of right now, my wallets empty and I cant even afford to go to mamak! I need MONEY!!!

Leech.... XD

My parents have a policy of not giving allowance during holidays. They seem to think that I wouldn’t need any since im not going to sch. Am I expected to stay home everyday for the whole period of holidays? Apparently they think so.

So whenever I wanna hang out with my friends I have to ask cash from my parents. My mom’s cool and hands it to me easily while my dad makes me beg for it.

And I hate begging. But what am I to do? I need the cash! Maybe I should consider getting a part time job then I can both hv money from the job and leech from my parents which means twice the amount of money for me!!

But then again, I think I’ll just stick to leeching. It’s much more fun compared to actually earning it!!

Buffalo beaten by an insect!

Im typing this with my bowels screaming to be released from all the chilli I ate in the afternoon coupled with a heavy dinner and top it off with bee hon soaked in oil for supper. So I guess some shit ass chemical reaction is taking place as we speak. But I think I can hold it in a lil more, im a lil adapt at it already since, well, I had plenty of experience. =)
Dengue fever seems like an historic disease to me. I mean, it’s so harmless that it needn’t be taken note of. Alas, bro’s infected with it and was admitted to hosp. today. If he had only listened to mom or be like me and drink lots & lots of water, he’ll save a few thousand bucks… maybe for me to spend? Anyway, spent 4 hrs there watching tv and just being there. It doesn’t really matter if u don’t hv anything to say or and jokes to share, the presence counts most. Well, it would be at least for me.
So we left bro there to fend the monsters under his bed alone at about 1230 hrs. Sis just couldn’t shut up bout ghost and supernatural beings and bout her ‘encounters’ during her last hosp. stay. It would’ve been really entertaining if some1 was to fall for it but we all know it’s bullshit. He’s gonna be alrite, heck he’s 4 yrs my senior he should be able to handle these kind of things. Unless of coz, some ass wearing hosp. gowns walks into his room holding is head on his left hand and his eyeballs and his right hand then we hv a problem.
Come to think of it, I hv nvr been admitted to a hosp. at least not that I know of. I’ve always regarded myself as possessing wolverine healing powers where any injuries or sickness that has befallen me will be healed by itself and I’ll recover faster than the average Joe. I guess when u feel that u’re better, u are recovering faster than if u were to think that u’re sick.
I wonder how it is like spending a nite in a hosp. room alone and sick as a dog. It would be a new experience that I wouldn’t mind trying. Hmmm, guess im stupid for cursing me that I’ll be consign to a hosp. bed….someday. But, since I’ve nvr tried it b4, it would satisfy my curiosity.
Well bro, hahhaha serve u right u fat shit. Take the time to rest and slim down like everyone said u would. Hahaha.. like what dad said, “ A buffalo taken down by a small lil mosquito.” Speedy recovery bro!! Cheers!

A kid...nevertheless

I rose from my bed with a struggle. Awoken by the sound of drilling, my body refuses to admit that sleeping time has been cut w/o prior notice. I went downstairs expecting to see breakfast or at least some kind of food on the table but I was only too hopeful.
There stood in front of me a kid of barely 9 yrs old running around playing with chai chai. I couldn’t help but smile. My dad was on the comp thus I trodded to the couch. I see my sis on the phone whilst my bro was sleeping like a dog. He is sick as a dog anyway. I slouched on the couch and tried to regain my dream. Alas, blardy drilling! Can’t they start a lil later?
I witnessed an innocent child armed with nthg but his imagination holding what would be, pikachu and bamboo sticks. He is a soldier and chai chai’s the enemy he’s about to slay! Just as the final blow was to be made, chai chai scurried towards my dad. His own sanctuary while the kid, saddened to be unable to slay his enemy retreated towards the sanctum that was the sofa. I just smiled…reminiscing.
After both recuperated, the duel begin again. A tug-o-war soon ensued. The enemy was trying to devour his prey while the soldier is pulling it away from it’s teeth. He pulled and pulled but to no avail. But he would not give up, instead he tried even harder to save it. Alas, with a hard tug, chai chai won!
He returned to his place, defeated but not w/o spirit. After gaining strength, he dashed towards his enemy once again. This scenario continued for some time and all the while I was smiling. How childish can be be? Armed with nthg but his imagination he reminds me of……me.

In an island which we cant get out of.....yet!

Humans are one of the evolutionary success stories with the ability to think and speak. With these special attributes, we were assigned the duty of upholding and safekeeping the world and to care for the various species that inhibits the world. However, in our quest for technological advancements, we have neglected to consider the effects of our actions on Mother Nature.
We are suffocating ourselves with our daily carbon emission. If nthg is done now, we will be the cause of our own demise! World governments notably the EU have already done their part why administering carbon trading and are trying their best to meet to Kyoto protocol.
So what can normal citizens do? Since we burn efuel to get electricity and power our cars, it is only fit if we were to replace them with renewable and non-polluting energies. For homes, we can go solar which are getting cheaper and more efficiently yearly. Our cars (which are major carbon emitters) should be replaced with those of smart cars, hybrid cars and etc. Smart cars and hybrid cars run partially on electric power which could be recharged at new electrical point. There are also hydrogen powered engines of BMW which have 2 fuel tanks – one on normal fuel and one on hydrogen fuel-. They are only minor steps towards automobiles which are fully independent of hydrocarbon fuels. Yet, w/o these minor steps, we would we end up?
I’m half way thru convincing my dad to set up solar panels in our home (currently undergoing renovation). We Malaysians live in the tropics which are bountiful in sunlight and our rivers are designed for hydroelectric generation. We have monsoon seasons which make wind a feasible choice of energy. Yet, since we all seem to be apathetic bout nature and constantly deceiving ourselves that the world will last forever, I do not see much activity to promote renewable energy here.
We should bear in mind that we all live in an island and this is an island which we hv not yet found a way out of and may be out last stronghold. Go green people!

"HCL is an asid." "No! It's Happy cocking and laughing."

Institution of learning is a place where people learn smth on a certain subject from certain ppl. Lower six has official ended with the last extra class held today. It was held continuously for 2 weeks with physics taking the 1st and chem covering the 2nd. Classes start at 8 and last for a duration of 4 hours with a half an hour break. It would have been useful, really, if only attention was paid.
Physics was well….physics. Who would dare interrupt loo’s class? Well, we are talking bout looney so it’s normal that classes went normally. Chem however, is a totally diff story. Maybe it’s because the teacher’s not good enough. Maybe, it’s because I got lazy (Hmmm..wait. I got lazy from the start). It prolly was because my peers were of bad influence and that we all were just uninterested.
I’m always late for chem… 15 mins the least 45 mins the most. I wouldn’t hv missed anything, for I was expecting to gain anything. With the teacher forking out words of knowledge diligently in front to those students who were copying diligently in the front rows with theirs ears perked up to pick up any special words or special meaning words which might enable them to score in the exams. Perfect! Exactly how a classroom should be.
Look towards the back of the class however and the sight is hilariously identical. Books lay open on the table, pens/pencil lying around on top of full scrap paper – apparently to copy notes. Apparently! - But the books are turned to the wrong page or even better, closed. The papers are untouched and bursts of laughter are heard in intervals accompanied by sudden “What kinds”! And “Cockstories”. Push it a lil more and fuck, skank and whore seems to be a necessity in every sentence. Oh, if u still didn’t know, the word fuck can act as a noun, verb, adverb or an adjective. E.g “ Fuck u, u fucking fucker”. Caution is needed when choosing to use these words. Occasional glares and stares and disapproving looks might be tuned towards the speaker.
I have learned nthg from these extra classes (Chem) thus I don’t deem it as very useful. But this is all due to my willingness to forsake my studies for those minutes of joy and my eagerness to hv fun and im sure that this will all come back to bite me in the ass in the future. Change is needed. =)
