What Are We?

While the residents of yogyakarta was preparing for the eruption of Mt. Merapi, what was hurled towards them was uncalled of. At 6.2 on the Richter scale, the land shook beneath their feet tearing down houses, streets and buildings. Needless to say, lives we lost many that day. Estimated around 3000 people died while survivors had little of means to sustain life themselves. Aid agencies already there needed more help. Supplies, personnel, medicine, clothes and etc. With make shift hospitals there isnt enough room to house all the injured. But what are we, people behind the glass windows doing? How many of us actually cared to donate even a dollar? We continue with our lives as if nthg has happen while the people of indonesia suffer from another catastrophic disaster. Do we not care? Have we lost our sense of humanity? Do we not all live under the same sky thus is it not only fair to help another when one is weak? Then why are we acting all selfish or apathetic towards the suffering of another.
But who am i to voice out when i myself did nothing, except to feel sorrow and pity. I guess, i guess, im just like YOU.
