Malacca road trip

I guess i'm a lil late, Bkt tabor was last wednesday and the following post will be on my road trip to Malacca last friday.

It was initially planned that we head up north and stay a nite at Penang ISLAND after stopping over at Ipoh for some food. Alas, 1 by 1 they jacked and it was down to the 4 same blokes who explored Bangkok a year back.

But lo behold, danny the head jacked at the very last minute because his mom wasnt too please with him visiting Penang yet again. God knows what he did there when he went with his fellow pilots that displeased his mom.

We had to settle on a one day road trip which was the only way that he'll be allowed to go. RM50 came acalling.

There were 4 then another friend, ronald, joined us. With vivek already in Malacca, we reached a grand total of Six blokes!

From left : Danny, Vivek, Me, Aaron, Ronald, Liks.

Seriously, that is some achievement.

Lim peh being a safe driver, we were cruising on 110 km/h throughout the way to malacca and reached Malacca in about 1 1/2 hours. We were all starving and ronald recommended a dim sum place at Durian Tunggal. He ate there once and it was quite good.

On the way to Dim sum!

We went there, and all we saw was

NOTHING!

With stomach acid corroding our stomach, we head to malacca town for some chicken balls. I mean... chicken rice balls.

Balls! Balls! Balls!

We went to the same shop danny ate when he came with yuan, cyih and anand.

Chung Wah coffee shop.

Located at the end of Jonker Street.

We thought it would be some good food.

Lunch

We were left disappointed. The taste was almost bland and we couldnt find anything special that made it worth our cash!

Tasteless Chicken.

Went home and dad told me that i should've tried the shop in the middle of jonker street; a wooden shop. I actually saw 2, one was endorsed by 'Ah sien' and the other by dunno what's his face the hongkie tv show host.

Vivek joined us in his kapchai. XD

What do you call a clown on a motorbike?

We went to A'famosa the used-to-be-grand-fort-now-a-piece-of-rotting-wall since it'll be highly insulting if we didnt give 2 fucks bout it.

Inside A'famosa

Besides, it's a tourist attraction ;).

The remains

Statue of saint smth, dont ask me why he lost his right hand. He prolly stole smth during Sultan Alauddin reign and he chopped his hand off.

Thief

So he's honoured for stealing shit? Damn u xtians!

We passed loads of museums and some pretty crappy ones. Definitely established for propaganda purposes

tsk tsk.

but then we hv to allow, our country's history began in this very place. Thank you Parameswara.

Taken when walking up to A'famosa

We stood at the only remaining gate of Kota A'Famosa and i have to say, the Portugese were smart only for a short period of time. They prolly got infected by the Local disease and they grew stupid and fucked up real bad. Static defenses never work.

The only remaining gate.

We then awed at the sight of a train contributed by KTM berhad

Head is posing.

The six blokes!

and a plane contributed by my grandma.

My plane.

A fortune cookie told her i would be camwhoring there one day.

XD.

Only reason i see her contributing that plane.

Every great fort has one great canon.

Wanan ride me?

Picture paints a thousand words.

Went for some cendol located by the river, opposite Stadhuys. The red building in malacca.

Cendol stall by the river...

Nice and cheap.

Opposite stadhuys!

Went for some nyonya laksa and durian cendol at Jonker Street. Pretty famous and every tourist is bound to visit the shop.

Head is posing...again.

Pretty lan c too since you gotta serve yourself.

laksa and cendol
It was pretty good, different from Penang asam laksa but it's rather tasty in it's own way. Altho, it wasnt spicy enough.

Baba laksa
The Durian cendol was too sweet and leaves you with some aftertaste and thirsty.

Durian cendol

If you dislike durian or is afraid of being diabetic; you pussy, give it a try nonetheless. It's smth different.

Aaron was pestering us to go to a bakery where his mom bought some top grade pineapple tarts. He marketed it in such a way that we had to get out hands on em. He bought one container, liks got 2 - 1 for joann-, and i got i.

It was really good, mine is already gone and i didnt even get to taste it.

As we were haggling with the taukeh soh for a discount which she eventually gave; from Rm16 to Rm15.50, we were only able to guess what danny was doing.

For he looked like this when we got out:

Exhausted!!

Vivek then brought us to a satay place where they serve pork satay.

Satay place.

The pork was crispy and tasty but the sauce was a drag down. Nothing to be overly enthusiastic about.

After all that eating, we were used. We were planning to crash at vivek's place for a while before heading back but he was just too reluctantly.

Prolly a pig sty.

So he brought us to a riverside place where i assume is the place malaccan hang out. Or their ONLY place. It had clubs, bars, eatery, a cybercafe and a ktv.

We sat down by the riverside which we had to pass through the ktv to get to. I got no idea why.

Chilling.

A rather nice palce to chill and talk cock with a group of friends.

View across from us.

They eye has been moved here from titiwangsa.
