Kota Kinabalu June 01 - 06

Kota Kinabalu is a shitty place. It's hot, it's boring but most shitty of all, it's expensive. A glass of teh ais will cost you a leg and a bowl of plain white rice an arm.

We stayed in a backpackers lodge costing us RM20 per night per bunk. Oh yea, we sleep on bunk beds in a narrow room with a single fan. FML.

About 20 of us civil-ians took over that lodge and i was told more were to come later that night. I pity the white skins staying there. They must've feel threatened.

Taking the earliest flight, we went an scourge for breakfast. We arrived in KK at 0900 hrs and were out of the lodge at 1130 all on the verge of death. We had our 1st taste of the price with a plate of chicken + pork rice.

RM5.00

We then explored the town. Tooks us oh roughly 5 hours? We ran out of things to see. We then head to the Famous Filipino market for some barbecue.

Ohhh!!!!!!! We had some little dicks to savour before the meal. They were very obliging indeed. Picturesque!

They actually came up to the pier, lined up and posed for us. That pic's with teikz. They even had the balls to ask for RM1.

We then shopped around the handicrafts market for souvenirs. Okay, they shopped around. I just looked. and i found this.

A gobbo !!!!! Reminds me of gollum from lord of the rings. My preciousssss......

Coming back to the filipino market for some tea, we ordered a 2kg fish fresh out from the sea.

They will barbecue it right infront of your eyes so that you'll know what you were paying for. And for RM65 for our 2kg fish, it comes complimentary with

Plastic. The fish was a total disappointment. We waited about an hour for it to be served. It wasn't cooked at all.
2nd day
Was planned to be awesome! We were gonna river raft down the Padas river a swift as a turtle. Got up at 0730 to get ready for the van to depart at 0800. We were anticipating and exhilarated. We got potong stim 30 mins later.

We went snorkelling. Thats all there is to it that day. And banana boat. And para gliding. And if i was lucky would've gotten on the Fly Fish. I was not. FML x2

God was being kind and gave us some consolation. Hidden in the corner at some mall. We were given smth that would melt our hearts.

Oh egg tart, lu sangat cantik. With takoyaki balls to go by the side.

That night we paid a visit to the biggest mall in town. 1Borneo. It's like our times square. Sorry people, you still got a long way to go. Thats where Rm1.80 comes in and teikz will rmbr it forever. That's also where Edmond lost his groceries......foreseeable. ;)

As jakun as we are, we stole a trip into UMS. It was huge and their canselori's like a hotel lobby. No joke. Their canselor's hall is shaped like a friggin stadium! It was huge!!

Unshamefully, we cam whored in front of the canselori. Dont judge me Kzen! Dont you gloat!

3rd day
We depart for Mesilau resort where we will stay a night before embarking on the trail to the mountaintop. We stopped for lunch at some small village. We all ate the same thing. Chicken + pork. FML x 3.

Being a little fuzzed with the food, i asked the waitress to recommend me smth the local eats. Mee Tualam. Super oily. Delicious nonetheless!

Another 2 hours of life frightening van ride and we kissed the terra firma of Kinabalu Park. The driver was skilled alright, cutting corners and overtaking whenever he spots a chance. A chance which was blind to us all before he overtook the vehicle in front. Bitch.

Once there, the planners went to register and asked and asked and asked for more money from us. Whilst us stragglers cam whored for abit.

Once the registration is complete, we went shoe hunting. They all wanted rubber shoes, i told them it was necessary. They bought it anyway. I guess Rm6 is worth their money. I'll stay cheap and use my nike.

We reach our chalet a lil after 1700 hrs. Disembarking from the van, we had to walk up a short steep climb until we see our chalet. It was beautiful, it was comfortable! We all set down our bags and chose our beds. One of us suggested we take a group picture. Sounds good.

Where's my camera?

Where the fuck is my camera?? I couldnt find it anywhere in my bag. Where the heck is my camera i screamed. They all looked at me like i was dumb. Must be in the damn van. I was frantic. It was my new camera bought with my own money!

Where the fuck is my camera?

I pleaded them to call the van. No reception!!! I asked the hotel fella if there's a telephone:

xxxx: err *smiling* sorry, no telephone here.

I swear i wanted to screw his face there and then when suddenly CJ called out! He got through! My voice was breaky, i was acting like a girl. FML x4.
I told the van to turn around, that i left my camera inside.

He must've been very far, i ran down all the way to the guard house whence i waited for a few mins before the van finally appeared. A hand stretched out the window holding a black casing. Thank you!!!! T.T

I ran out of breath on my way back. I didnt realize i ran down so far. The trek up was a killer.

We had a sumptuous dinner that night.... for a vegetarian. 5 course dinner and out of that 5, 3 is vege, 1 is squid in vege and another chicken with vege.

Back in the chalet, a monstrosity greet us at the door!

CJ calmly caught it as it was flying in circles and send that beast out. Poor soul, it must've wanted to chor dai di with us.

4th day
Breakfast was served at 0700 and i ate my normal amount. The rest would beg to differ and said i ate alot. Dont listen to them.

Once finished, we collected our lunch provided by Sutera Harbour.

We left our bags at the reception desk and went for our 'briefing'. Paying full attention to what the guide was saying, i remembered nothing. OFF we went like the hare...

only to be cowed into a turtle 100m in. The first 1km trek was a bitch. It was tougher than Penang Hill, it was tougher than bukit tabor! Either that or i'm a sissy.

We trekked up mostly together for the first 4km whence after that, soon young for bored and vrooom-ed ahead reaching laban rata a lil after 2pm. Edmon and kit hock was just a lil behind him and an hour behind were the 6 of us; me, teikz, cj, wei bing, han liang and eugene. 7 if you include the china girl. -.- Boy is she fit.

Yes we can!

At some random checkpoint.

About 3 km in, after this, 3 members will disappear in front with 2 behind.

misty

Our lunch date. We ate together gether.

China girl took this. She was our photographer much.

Mistakenly conned them into believing it's laban rata.

This is laban rata behind us.
5th day
We catch the sunrise on time, we leave laban rata at 0200 hours in pitch dark conditions. I finally remembered what i forgot to bring. My head lamp. FML x5. Lucky enough, kok wooi went ahead of me one and we shared his light. Life saving. Definitely.

The climb to the peak was torturous and difficult. We were technically blind if not for all the torches. The darkness had one good thing, we were prevented of looking at our tracks. Making us more afraid, making me think if i lost my balls some where.

Rope climb.

Seeing this sign, 1.5km away.
We were the 4 musketeers in the climb up. Always pushing, always encouraging each other. We all knew we had to watch the sun rise from the horizon. We were slow, but we kept our pace.

A few meters from the peak and we saw the orange clouds signalling the on coming sun. We forgot the fatigue, the pain on our legs and raced the final few meters to the peak. There, we waited, and what a sight!

Pictures paint a thousand words. I'll upload more but it's taking a long time for me to upload the pictures hence here i stop. I have plenty more spectacular pictures from the peak.

It made me feel like i'm with the Gods, above all problems, above all troubles. It was truly peaceful and beautiful.

Mount Kinabalu is truly the final resting place for the souls.

Will be updating 1st on K.K trip and then Ho Chi Minh city in the next few days. Will need to sort through the thousand pictures.

KL-KK-KL-HCM-KL

Greetings from the less polluted air of Kota Kinabalu.

Not yet, but i will be holla-ing in as little as 8 hours. I think we thought we were pretty smart in getting the first flight in and the last flight out. We forget about the journey to the airport and back. What some shit we have to go through.

Sleepless nights and days and my poor momma to have to wake up to send me and my friends to the bus station in a couple of hours.

You shall not hear from me for the next 10 days as i'll be heading to Ho Chi Minh city right after conquering Mount K.K. (again) and the swift rivers of pedas or linggi or some river that im gonna river raft on.

Blackout.

The more i look at it, the more it boils my blood. There's just no reason that my terrace house has no electricity whilst 20 metres, rooms are brightly lit in those damn low cost flat.

I'm not discriminating but every time i look up, it's as though they are mocking me.

"Though i live in a low-cost flat but i have smth you dont..... electricity, Hehehehee. you terrace-living ass."

I was irritated that i just had to leave the house. The sigh repels me. I just cannot stand that shitty feeling in me. It's low-cost damn it!

Hence my lonely trip to an Old Town with The Economist in hand. One hour there is still too long.

Life's a bitch yo.

When I'm a Billionaire

I never knew using your own money to buy things feels this good. It's a kind of satisfaction and joy that knowing you spent your money on something you think is worth

*Does not apply to the female spesies as they, well, i dont think i need to explain*

Today, i took my own money and bought smth i thought would be a good investment. I was smiling all the way back with a kind of satisfaction i have not felt before. I was using my own money to buy things, it feels good.

It did hurt my bank balance tho, carved a shit ass big hole in it too.

After heading back to the office and showing to my mom what i bought i realized that even if i've gone completely mad and did not want to be rich...... i have to.

No, I must. It's not to show off or to simply buy things and hoard em *oh, sounds womanish.* but to be able to support and improve on my current lifestyle.

But i will refuse my parents initial disposition of getting me to buy stuff for them. Just to get back at them for a bit. It'll be fun when i'm able to do that. Revenge is sweet, no?

How fast can you speak?

Let's try this ;)

When a twister a-twisting will twist him a twist;
For the twisting a twist, he three twines will entwist;
But if one of the twines of the twist do untwist,
The twine that untwisted untwisted the twist.

4mb Oh 4mb

I have been bombarding TM's 100 hotline for the past week, calling almost everyday checking on the status of my application.

They must've been really bored of hearing my voice. The contractor came today to install a new telephone line costing me RM150 inclusive of workmanship.

What a rip off. I'm sure it costs half that sum to get the wiring done UNDER the walls.

But it sure is pleasing to have them come and fix it up now. Got tired of constant daily nagging from my sis. Sort of like me to tm. Hmmmph.

Now just gotta wait for tm to come set up the 4mb modem. Oh yea baby. Feel the Need For Speed.

Inter 2 - 0 Bayern M.

Internazionale lifts the Champions League Trophy

Zits.

i just squeezed one of the pimples in a tri-pimple zit. That's 3 formed into 1 big ass zit right on my right cheek.

Squeezing the 1st one caused my right knee to go weak. It hurts.

The 2nd pimple required a bit more energy. It got harder to apply force with so much blood around my face. The more i squeeze the more my eyes squint. It's blardy painful.

I'll leave the 3rd one for tmrw.

It's time to watch the Champions League Final

It's really a touching story...

A man was walking across the road when he met with

an accident. The impact was on his head which caused

him to be in a coma for 2 days. When he opened his

eyes, his wife was by his side.

He told her (in tears), "When I was struggling with

my studies in the University, I failed again and

again. Sometimes I even had to re-take my papers.

You were there by my side, encouraging me to go on trying."

She squeezed his hands as he continued, "When I

went for major interviews and failed to clinch any of the jobs, you were there, cutting out the job ads for me to apply..."

He added, " ...then I started working in this

little firm and finally got a big contract. I blew it because of a small mistake. But you are still there for me." His wife was in tears.

The man said, "I finally got a job after being laid off

for quite some time. But I was never promoted and

my hard work was notrecognised.

I remained in the same position from the day I joined

the company till now. You are still beside me..."

His wife's tears trickled down as she listened to him,

" And now I meet with an accident and when I wake up

you are here with me. There's something I'll really

like to say to you..."She flung herself on the bed and

hug her husband, sobbing with deep emotion.

Finally her husband said,

"I think you bring me bad luck."

Red Shirts = Assholes

If the red shirts only wanted political change why the sudden demand of charging the deputy prime minister just when a deal seems to be almost cast in stone?

Furthermore, why did the burn down buildings and engage looting during the protest if they were so peaceful and citizen loving? Aren't those they burn and steal from citizens of their beloved country too?

I think they are assholes. Selfish and pathetic assholes playing minions to some lord. They have the right to protest i reckon but not to the extent of disrupting business and the livelihoods of the people. Furthermore, is rendering a city limp effective in forcing political change?

You village people should continue harvesting padi in your fields and leave the politics to city folks. Or if you insists, participate peacefully.

WORDS WOMEN USE

FINE
This is the word women use to end an argument when they feel they are right and you need to shut up. Never use "fine" to describe how a woman looks - this will cause you to have one of those arguments.

FIVE MINUTES
This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so it's an even trade.

NOTHING
This means "something," and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with "Fine"

GO AHEAD (With Raised Eyebrows)
This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine"

GO AHEAD (Normal Eyebrows)
This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care" You will get a "Raised Eyebrow Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.

LOUD SIGH
This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment, and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing"

SOFT SIGH
Again, not a word, but a non-verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" mean that she is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe, and she will stay content.

THAT'S OKAY
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. "That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and in conjunction with a "Raised Eyebrow."

GO AHEAD.
At some point in the near future, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.

PLEASE DO
This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay"

THANKS
A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say you're welcome.

THANKS A LOT
This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have offended her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh." Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only tell you "Nothing"

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying: "Hi, how are you?"

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the men's restrooms at a rest stop but, I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassedly: "Doin Just Fine!"

And the other guy says: "So what are you up too?"

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say: "Uhhh I'm like you, just traveling east!"

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.

Can I come over to your place after while?

Ok, this question is just wacky but i figured I could just be polite and end the conversation.

I tell him, "Well, I have company over so today is a bad day for me!"

Then I hear the guy say nervously...

"LISTEN"

I'll have to call you back,
there's an idiot in the other stall who keeps

We are the Word 25 For Haiti

This is a very good video.

We are truly members of God's great big family. it's doesn't matter if you're american, chiense, indian or if you're in Peru, Russia or New Guinea when one of us get's hurt, it is the responsibility of those who are able to help out.

I always believe that we cannot be selfish and should help each other out especially in times of great distress and need. We are all brothers and sisters in this living world, even if the colour of our skins or the religion that we believe in separates us physcially.

No man is an island. Don't let yourself be one.

When down

It's always fun too watch Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong play. It's not their showing off or Tan's lightning smash but when they are losing and in the shitters, they always pull of a smile or a laugh.

You're there cursing your mouth away on how shitty they're playing and suddenly those assholes break off a smile. You think to yourself, what's so funny about losing?

Well, that's life. You win some, you lose some. When losing, what matters is that you're able to pick yourself up and not put yourself down some more.
When down, search for the finer things in life, search for the good and fun things.

Don't be down or sad, there are always things to smile about. =)

Thomas Cup

The adrenaline pumps furiously, the excitement is just almost too much to handle. But all i'm doing was just lying there.

They are doing all the moving, they are the ones on the scene but the excitement is more than when im playing.

Watching the national team playing on tv is one helluva exercise. It doesnt matter if you're malay, chinese, indian or even a bangla. When one is playing for one's country, one gets the backing of the whole country transcending nation.

Malaysia's currently leading Denmark 2-1 in the Thomas cup and is currently hoping that the crack pair of Hoo Tian How and Muhd Zakry can clinch the winning point for us.

It's looking VERY VERY Good. We have just won the first set.

The First Affair

There was a middle-aged couple who had two stunningly beautiful blonde
teenaged daughters. They decided to try one last time for the son they
always wanted.

After months of trying, the wife became pregnant and sure enough, nine
months later delivered a healthy baby boy. The joyful father rushed to
the nursery to see his new son. He took one look and was horrified to see
the ugliest child he has ever seen.

He went to his wife and said that there was no way that he could be the
father of that child. "Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered."

Then he gave her a stern look and asked, "Have you been fooling around
on me?"

The wife just smiled sweetly and said, "Not this time.

Spaghetti

My parents are away at the moment and i had to feed not only myself but also my grandma and zaizai.

After being rather bored of chinese, there were wants for some italian.

My mom's spaghetti tastes great to me, i sometimes prefer it to commercialized outlets which appears to promise much but comes out disappointingly mellow. So today, i tried to emulate that feat.

Cooking spaghetti sounded easy to me so i decided i'll do the cooking tonight. IT was not. Stirring the pot got my hands tired after 5 mins, heck it's as though im working out.

First in, garlic and chillies and onions then add the tomatoes. After frying for abit, pour in the tomato purees. Stir as long as your hands can take it. Add in the mushrooms, after that, add in more mushrooms. Throw in the diced chicken and make sure it's small sized. Easier and feels better in the mouth. Pepper is a must, black or white or both. Also, PARSLEY, you gotta have that smell. I didn't have any tonight. T.T

Keep on stirring even if your hands are tired. Modify according to taste. Salt, sugar, soya sauce. Sesame oil, yes a bit of that is a must.

When cooking the spaghetti or in my case fettucini, pour some olive or sunflower oil into the pot. It'll definitely smell and taste better.

After 10 mins i was sweating and praying for wind. But then again, sweat, wind, cooking. Rather disgusting.......

My cooking was so delicious, so awe-inspiring, so appetizing...... it was not.

It tasted only okay. Alrite, maybe i havent gotten it all from my mom but hey, my 1st try. MY second's gonna blow anyone's mind off who's lucky to get a try.

And my soup, rather bland to be honest. Wanted to add more salt but was afraid of adding too much. The little salt that i added after didnt help much. -_______________-.

Cooking is both an art and science........

which i am not a master

yet.

And when my beat drops everybody goes insane (woo)
Okay
And everybody know my name and everywhere I go people wanna hear me sing (oh)
Oh yeah and I just dropped my new album on the first week I did Five-Hundred Thousand
Gold in the spring and diamond in the fall and then a world tour just to top it all off
And lets pretend like they called me the greatest selling out arenas with big ass stages
And everybody loved me and noone ever hated
Lets try to use imagination

[Chorus]

Okay lets pretend like this never happened (never)
Like I never had dreams of being a rapper (rapper)
Like I didn't write raps up in all of my classes
Like I never used to run away into the blackness
Now lets pretend like it was all good (good) like I didn't live staring in a notebook (notebook)
Like I did the things that I probably knew I should (should)
But I aint have neighbours thats why they call it hood (hood yeah)
Now lets pretend like I aint got a name before they ever call me BOB aka Bobby ray
I'm talking back before the mixtapes (yeah) before the videos and the deals and the fame
Before the ever once compared me to andre before I ever got on myspace
Before they ever noticed my face so lets just pretend and make wishes out of airplanes

[Chorus]

[Bridge II:]
And it seems like yesterday it was just a dream
But those days are gone (gone gone) and just memories
(oh oh)
And it seems like yesterday it was just a dream
But those days are gone (gone gone)

[Eminem]
Allright lets pretend Marshall Mathers never picked up a pen
Lets pretend things would have been no different
Pretend he procrastinated had no motivation
Pretend he just made excuses that were so paper thin they could blow away with the wind
Marshall you're never gonna make it makes no sense to play the game there ain't no way that you'll win
Pretend he just stayed outside all day and played with his friends
Pretend he even had a friend to say was his friend
And it wasn't time to move and schools were changing again
He wasn't socially awkward and just strange as a kid
He had a father and his mother wasn't crazy as shit
And he never dreamed he could rip stadiums and just lazy as shit
Fuck a talent show in a gymnasium bitch you won't amount to shit quit daydreaming kid
You need to get your cranium checked you thinking like an alien it just ain't realistic
Now pretend they ain't just make him angry with this shit and there was no one he could even aim when he's pissed it
And his alarm went off to wake him off but he didn't make it to the rap Olympics left to his plane and he missed it
He's gon' have a hard time explaining to Hailey and Laney these food stamps and this wick shit
Cuz he never risked shit he hopes and he wished it but it didn't fall in his lap so he ain't even here
He pretends that

[Hailey Williams]
Airplanes in the night sky like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now wish right now wish right now
Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now wish right now wish right now

World War III

If North Korea did deliberately torpedo the Cheonan in south korean waters then we might be looking at World War 3 in the making.

Battleship

With strong political pressure and war-mongering citizens crying out for the revenge of the 46 dead sailors were to get a strong backing, Mr. Lee Myung-bak might just have to reinforce his strong stance against the North, even stronger.

Military action will be costly and of course deadly. Seoul is less than a 100km from the border and is easily reachable by any ICBM's. No, they dont even have to intercontinental ballistic, some modified missile will deliver the nuke that will annihilate Seoul and with that South Korea.

Good Bye beautiful korean chicks.

The global implication is that, the US is backing the South and China is an open supporter of the North. If the South do retaliate, and the north do the same. The US will be obliged to assists.

China in the spirit of marxism will be forced to help his fellow bethren wether he likes it or not or risk losing support from other communist states.

Is the US able to sustain wars in 3 fronts?
Most certainly not. Not with today's economics.

Will China risk losing money just to help out a outcast dictator?
Most certainly not. They're chinese. All they think about is money.

WW3 will only start because of shortage of water. And with economics in mind, I dont believe any country will go to war for the time being without an imminent threat. There's just too much money involved.

Teikz's Prank

The Rice

It was all unnecessary. Which was why i thought it was necessary to do the unnecessary. The girls were talking about it for the whole semester. No1 thought they will ever do it.

And they wouldn't. They were up for it but on eve they lost steam and was all set to give up. But that couldn't happen. I figured it'll be too fun to watch to give this chance up. EXECUTE WE MUST!!!! Sry bro, if you wanna whack me, i'll run.

Execute we did, with perfection. Way too damn perfect that we overdid it.

Target was pre-determined to reach the cafe at 1830 hours. Alas, he was 10 minutes late!

It was all done in a hurry i had to admit. We had all the materials ready but we were lacking a plan. A plan to make the box that would contain his present. I would type beloved present but i would not live to sit for EAG245.

We then just started tearing boxes like dogs gone mad and combining them together to with tape and saliva. It was all going very well when suddenly we realized we need to make the base or else the rice-powered target might just lift the whole box up.

Hence we made the base and thought our job was done.

IT was not. The box was big enough, but it was not tall enough. The present isnt very tall but still, we only had small boxes. The females used their menacing claws and jaws to tear the remaning boxes and we proceed to build our majestic container.

The present then climbed ontop a chair before jumping into the box. The present was persuaded to wear skirt to pretend to be man.. i mean womanly. I dont think it worked.

With the present in, we proceeded to seal the top. WE had to, the present must be perfect!

IT wasnt hard, i think the present was a bit square at the top hence acted as a wonderful table. Sealing the top was easy. We just taped like crazy. I mean, not like anything alive is inside rite?

But to maintain freshness - pun intended-, we figured we're better off making some air holes to allow circulation. One at the side, and another at the ass. *Shrugs* Just in case?

at 1835, our present was ready!

Which means at 1835, the present was already in the box for 5 minutes. We were anxious, we were very anxious. BUT, the 2 air holes are definitely doing their job!!!

1840 came and the target arrived in fashion. With 2 bodyguards side by side protecting him from any unneeded distraction or harm.

It's video presentation time. =)

To re-cheer him up, and we were all shitting in our pants thinking how to do that after pissing him off.

But then, we didnt have to worry. It all worked out in the end just fine
by itself.

=)

Take them off if....

This will probably come back to kick me in my ass but i just had to share it.

Today i heard a line which sounds something,
" Hey guy, don't take off my bra strap unless you want to marry me!"

The guy just shut up.

What he should've done was to say,
"Hey girl, if you don't let me take off your bra strap I'm definitely not marrying you!"

RIP lech Kaczynski

RIP sir

The Polish President : Lech Kaczynski has died in a plane crash.

The plane apparently crashed into trees in foggy weather.

Only question that runs through my head is why is the pilot flying so low? Aren't airplanes equipped with very good gps systems? cant the airport controllers detect where they are?

Hmmm... waste of life.

TOT 09/10

It took me 2 years to realize that i might have chosen the right uni. Missing out on the chance to participate on the 1st year was regrettable. It didn't give me something to look forward to.

Partaking in TOT or annual athletics meet in main campus this year was very exhilarating indeed. I never knew it was so competitive. It was an atmosphere that i was looking for, that i needed here in USM.

I earned zero medals this year after running in a 4x100m relay and taking my pet event long jump albeit with some mishaps. After a stupendously slow run in semi-finals, we were surprised we go into finals that afternoon.

After a change of runners, we got ready for the finals. We came in 4th! A slip on the 2nd runner was all that was needed to destroy our hopes of even getting a medal.

Long jump was an even bigger disappointment. They didn't even register me for it but at 7.30 this morning, they called me to get my ass down there for it. I knew i was in deep shit after qualifying for finals. They were good. They were very good.

Came in 4th again!! The farthest jump was 5.9m while i recorded 5.4m which was even lesser than the ones i made in sec. school.

Didnt run in 4x400m because some guy wanted to participate. Sad to say, the team was let down by him when they came in 5th in their semis hence didnt qualify.

Although I couldnt get any medals this year but i have regain the competitive spirit that was lost after form 6. My naivety that being one the best in VI, i could at least achieve smth in uni. How foolish.

Nevertheless, with a little bit of training i'm sure next year's results will be better. I have found people who can run as fast or even faster, people who also has that desire to win. Next year's TOT is what i'm looking towards to.

Let's race bitch

From the recent Battle of the Bands competition held in USM, "Through my Window" by claypot. Lead singer : Edmond Teo. Apologies of pool picture quality but i think the sound is rather okay.

TOT

Always feels good when you're winning, even though only being part of the winning team and not one of the key players. Would've been better if i was one of the key(s) but i don't get to play much with such limited spare time hence, no practice.

Yada yada, much excuses i gave. Would be great if i go on to win volleyball-if there is one-. Hmmmph! That'll be a sweep.

Come 27th will be Temasya Olahraga Tahunan USM. An arena i'm confident i can shine. Too bad i was stupid enough to sign up for only 3 events; 4x100m , 4x400m and long jump.

I reckon i should've taken triple jump and/or 200m sprint as individual events too. i think if no surprises somewhere i can maybe luck a medal somehow.

Oh well, we'll find out come 27th!

GOD SPEED!

Sunday, March 14, 2010

I feel stupid.

Thank you assignments

Of Eloquence & Speaking

Not the best orator, not the best speaker can convince like thus. Sometimes it's not the words said. Sometimes words are unneeded.

Actions speaks louder than any voice can make. It's eloquence smoother than any line orators can piece together.

To have done that was foolish in the eyes of a practical realist. In the eyes of another, it was totally another thing. Unable to understand, comprehend; the significance of this activity yet forced to accept.

To accept that not the best orator, not the best speaker can convince like thus.

A day of missed excitement and excitement of our own.

Having joined an UTP organized Concrete Frisbee competition, we have to get started now as it's only 3 weeks away. The first thing that is needed is of course the frisbee-shaped mould in which to make the concrete frisbee.

Hence, my skipping paintball organized by the SLK gang -which sounded like mighty fun from the stories heard- to journey to Queensbay mall in search of a frisbee.

We left campus at 1220 hrs, reaching Queensbay at 1300 hrs. Since it's already so late and we have yet to have our lunch.

Terracota? I wonder..

DragonI comes a calling.

The 1st dish we savoured our saliva-dripping tongue on was

DragonI!!

As you can see, we ordered 2 baskets which is to be honest, Insufficient.

Siu Loong Bao.

This is because, there's only 4 baos in 1 basket!!!! and which such big eaters sitting with me. Boy oh boy, we were so poor we had to ration it!

Greed is good....

Cheng was particularly hard to control. She was greedy as ever and there was no stopping her!

If it was any bigger, it will still go into her mouth. WHOLE!

We finished our Siu Loong Baoz

Just to pancing. =)

-Which was quite unsatisfactory when i compared to the ones i ate in kl. The gravy within wasnt as juicy and tasty and in meagre amount. The texture of the flour was average. But it still looks damn stim! Furthermore with vinegar and ginger on top. Yum! Yum! Yum!-

just in time for the next dish to arrive.

There's 6. I ate only 1. Go figure.

Shanghai Spicy Meat Dumpling!

It's quite similar to Siu Loong Bao but it contains more meat within and the sauce is to summarize, " oil plus chilli". The texture was notable softer though and it tasted good when you keep adding the sauce into it. A copious amount of sauce to add to be exact. But it beats the hell out of any dumpling you can find in Parit Buntar!

That was not the end of the story. Next in line came Deep fried chicken with Dried Chilli.

Tasty! tasty! tasty!

This was very delicious as you might tell from the picture. The chicken was fried to a golden colour and the taste wasnt too hot albeit the copious amount of dried chilli. Probably there for display purposes only.

We each ordered a bowl of la mian to top up our stomachs. I shall not comment on the capacity of both my companions.

Sue's beef la mian in spice soup came first

Beef with no beef,

It looks good. But i didnt taste very good. It had beef but the soup didnt have much beef taste. And she complained about the noodles which she chose. It's not the usual long noodles you'll get but is shaped differently like ribbons.

There are no pictures of mine and cheng's because Sue was too busy chopping down her bowl of not-very-tasty-beef la mian in spicy soup. She's always reinforcing my opinion of her. ;)

After hving a sumptious meal, we had a very 'entertaining' conversation. We had a 1 hr 30 mins lunch after which the discussion lasted another 30 mins. Loads of opinions when an all-girls sch, an all-boys sch and a co-ed sch talk.

We then went on our search for the frisbee. We 1st went to Toy'r'Us but all they had was rubber ones which was flaky. We needed the solid type as the mould. Much dejected, we head to Jusco to try our luck.

We were not in luck, lady luck was probably jealous of us for the food we consumed. Tsk tsk or about to consume. ;)

Perseverance being a driver, we walked the whole of queensbay going into any fitness or toy shop that might offer us a glimmer of hope of finding that elusive frissbee.

It was not to be. We had been walking for 2 hours and yet found nothing close to what we need. We decided it was time for some encouragement.

Apa ni?

Can't see? Let's go a little closer.

You might hv caught it, you might've not.

Hmmm, ice-cream? Yes...... yes..... my precious...

TA DA!!!

HAAGEN-DAZS!!!

Left(Cheng) : Green Tea, Mid(baby) : Choc & Cookies and Right(Me) : Mascarpone, passion fruit and truffles.

Haagen-Dazs provided us with much need flavour and cooling down from all the walking we've done. We pooled our resources and found enough coins to buy us one scoop each.

You should've seen the look on the cashiers face when we gave him our coins. He wasnt at all pleased. We waited 10 mins at the counter for him to finish counting the coins to the exact.

But we enjoyed every moment of it!

The Ugly

Cheng is all smiles.

The Noob

Sue is all smiles.

The irritating.

David is flirtatious!

Taking our time to enjoy this wonderful piece of creation, we were very satisfied. More so I because mine tasted the best. Sue's choc and cookies was well, chocolate and cookies. She has once again, proven me right. ;)

Cheng's green tea was definitely okay as green tea ice-cream are second only to black sesame ice-cream. If we're doing japan flavours only.

MINE WAS DELICIOUS. As admitted by sue after she tasted mine. It was creamy, sweet but not too and the truffles on top was just mouth-watering. It also has a tinge of sourness due to the mascarpone which after google-ing was found to be 'a very soft Italian cream cheese made from cow's milk'. The passion fruit becomes the icing. Perfecto!

We then continued our search but finally gave up. We decided henceforth to search for plates with the acceptable shape and diameter. We found a few. It was way too expensive. We ran away from Jusco.

BUT.....

Cheng ran away with some hair dry-er cum straightener. XD, sorry bout the pun.

Me and sue both:

One for you, one for me.

ran away with a fan each

Need you show me that face?
Our mission to search for a frisbee as our mould failed miserably. We had a very sumptuous lunch which left us glutted up until now. Yes, we were so full we didnt even take our dinner.

Nevertheless, as i said before. Perseverance! and it paid off.

In some random shop behind old town in Parit Buntar, we found what we were looking for.

Stupid mould.

This RM 5.50 steel plate will be our mould to make the concrete Frisbee. We didnt have to go to queensbay to get. We got it in small Parit Buntar. STILL,

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Can't. The concoction of hate, despair, extreme hate, disgust and the like overwhelms me. Expecting to be greeted with cool air was as foolish as hoping for rain of gold. It wasn't warm, the damn air that smothered me once i unlocked my room door was hot.

KL was hot, here it's just bullshit. How can we be so near the damn sea yet feel so blardy hot. My backs are already sweating as i'm trying to vent my hatred on the keyboard which by the way is eff-ing dusty.

It will remain dusty, that damn thing!

I really, sincerely greatly despise is shit hole!!!!!!

Easy peezy

Got this from an email from a friend, and i found it to be rather fun. I figured i'll share it with you guys:

Try this teaser

One for the clever people!

Please look at the math below:

They say only people with an IQ with 120 and over are able to figure this out.

If:
2 + 3 = 10

7 + 2 = 63

6 + 5 = 66

8 + 4 = 96

Then:

9 + 7 = ????

You'll be surprised at the simplicity of this.

Sometimes

Sometimes it doesn't really matter how many ways you can look at one thing because after deciphering it all you find that it all points the same direction.

It does gets you thinking if thinking outside the box is really as advantageous as they propose it to be.

Sometimes, looking at something from one point is all that we should do. It just makes things a whole lot simpler. It makes things a whole lot clearer... from that one point of course.

Tempting!

Just too bad i don't fancy that much.

Cheers!
